Why give your horse PharmaHorse Magnesium?
Magnesium Citrate is an important mineral for the muscular and nervous system, bones, water and energy management and the metabolism. Magnesium is responsible for transmitting signals to the muscles. It is also responsible for relaxing the muscles. Magnesium is necessary for the absorption of calcium in the bones and prevents a build-up of calcium in other tissues.
A recent study has revealed that 20% of healthy horses suffer from a magnesium deficiency and this percentage increases to over 50% for sick horses. It has emerged from the same study that almost half of the feed tested had a magnesium level below the standard minimum. This means that in half of all cases, raw feed alone, provides insufficient magnesium. Concentrated feeds often contain either insufficient magnesium or proportionally too much calcium. An additional nutritional supplement containing magnesium can have a surprisingly good effect.
Tip: Give competition horses suffering from stress magnesium.
Is PharmaHorse Magnesium suitable for young horses?
Young, introverted or highly strung horses can be susceptible to stress. This can be detrimental to development and training. Stress can result in physical contraction and stable vices. Magnesium has a calming effect.
When should magnesium be used?
